      Verdict

      Royal Birth and Corinthia Knight filled the places in last year’s renewal but, like most of these, have fallen victim to the progressive GOOD EFFORT over the winter. The latter won a Listed sprint here to complete a treble and had earlier beaten a couple of subsequent winners in Hareem Queen and Watchable over today’s trip at Newcastle. Furious has a shout at the weights and will likely improve further this year, though hasn’t raced since September, but Puds and Chitra have it all to do on these terms.
