Verdict

Chevallier won this in 2017 but has found both Mr Scaramanga and Apex King too good over track and trip recently and this looks between last year’s winner Goring and OH THIS IS US. The latter pair were both beaten by Hathal on their respective latest starts in conditions races but Richard Hannon’s charge will be sharper for his first outing since October and won carrying top weight at Chester the last time he raced in handicap company. Goring beat Mr Scaramanga in this last year and should go close again while the unpredictable Arcanada beat Chevallier here in between poor efforts. The unexposed Main Street was well beaten in Listed company on his first start for David Elsworth but is fancied to finish much closer now handicapping for the first time.
