Viva Verglas hasn't won since 2013 but has been running better than his form figures suggest and has dropped to a lenient mark. Caledonia Laird doesn't have the best of strike-rates and is still 6lb higher than his last victory while the three-year-old In Ken's Memory hasn't progressed as expected after making a successful debut at Nottingham in August. GULLAND ROCK won easily at Wolverhampton earlier this month and was well supported to follow-up at Chepstow last week. He looked like winning when taking the lead over 1f out but his saddle slipped and he had no answer when Carcharia went past. Compensation awaits here.
