Verdict
Samurai Warrior, Tina's Best and Southpaw Lad all make appeal in this maiden and narrow preference is for Samurai Warrior. This Peter Makin-trained 2-year-old showed improved form from his debut when a close second behind Trinkila at Wolverhampton. The trip is a slight worry today as he looks the type that will do better over further in time, but he is clearly going the right way and he makes plenty of appeal. Tina's Best has had a few chances now and she is not the most consistent. Her best form would give her a leading chance today but she is too hit and miss to recommend with any confidence. Southpaw Lad ran green on his debut but he was an eyecatcher nonetheless and if he improves for that introduction to the racecourse then he can go close. City Hustler has been knocking on the door of late and he is certainly an each-way player, but Samurai Warrior showed improved form last time and he can land the prize.
