Verdict

This may concern the penalised pair Recession Proof and BRACKLOON HIGH and we'd expect Noel Chance's representative to come out on top. The selection has always been well-regarded, as is evidenced by the fact he started odds-on for his bumper debut before finishing third on fast ground. That's his only blip to date as he's since won a pair of bumpers and once over timber and it's notable his most impressive performance came under testing conditions over 2m2f. The form of his debut hurdling success received a boost from the second yesterday too so with conditions ideal he's taken to score before having his sights raised. Recession Proof took second to a well-regarded Hobbs horse last time and deserves a rating of 134, but it's notable that he's yet to win any race on ground softer than good and for that reason he's opposed while the rest, headed by Latin America, are likely to struggle.
