In depth

Formwatch

Tantalus Smart performer with Barry Hills last year but has had his problems and recent return leaves him with plenty to find under top weight.

April Stock Mudlover who flopped when fancied in valuable November Handicap latest; something to prove on all-weather debut.

Lord Pierce Late maturing type who followed Ayr maiden success in October with excellent 2nd in conditions event over C&D; capable of further progress and sure to go well on handicap debut.

Lermontov (USA) Out of form of late and not certain to get home over this trip; makes sand debut.

Pulau Pinang (IRE) Well placed to win four races this term including over 10f here latest (now 4lb higher); effective at this trip and will prove hard to beat.

Forest Heath (IRE) Has been struggling to recapture best form of late; makes first appearance on sand.

Bawsian Acts well on sand and is tumbling down the weights but has lost his way of late.

Homelife (IRE) Fairly treated on fibresand wins earlier in the year and has had excuses of late (trip/ground); not without claims.

Prince of My Heart Veteran who is on the downgrade.

Lady Angola (USA) Impressive Wolverhampton winner in October (now 8lb higher) but best watched after flopping latest.

Ursa Major Well handicapped on best all-weather form but has been below form for some time.

Speed of Light (IRE) Lightly raced maiden who returns from near ten-weeks absence; others preferred.

Final Dividend (IRE) Only 3lb higher than when successful in amateur event over C&D in January but may need the outing following near five-months break.

Martin's Sunset All-weather debutant who faces no easy task on recent evidence.

Windshift (IRE) Well beaten of late both on the Flat and over hurdles.

Sure Quest Landed Wolverhampton event in October but will find this tougher off 5lb higher mark.
