Verdict

GENERAL KUTUZOV went into many notebooks last time out and he can repay that interest at the expense of Have You Seen Me and Samurai Way. Nick Gifford's charge was tried under very patient tactics last time out and ran on into the places under considerate handling after the winner had flown. Nigel Twiston-Davies won this race last year so Have You Seen Me is respected. He has joined the yard along with trainer, Carl Llewellyn but having won first time out, he took on some solid assignments throughout the rest of that season. Venetia Williams was among the winners yesterday and the backers seemed to know the score. If there is money for Samurai Way, it needs to be heeded. Quick De Montot is sure to be popular with Tony McCoy aboard. Stoney's Treasure has the benefit of having had a recent run under his belt and certainly looked as if he needed it on that reappearance bow. General Kutuzov's progress is likely not to have been off the radar and we reckon he can call rank on this bunch of novices.
