        Verdict

        Saviours Spirit is a tentative choice ahead of Blue Knight, Whitbarrow and Polar Force. Many in with chances here in a wide-open handicap, but Saviours Spirit caught the eye on his latest outing 17 days ago. Returning from an eight-month break, the Terry Mills-trained five-year-old showed plenty of speed and managed to hold on for third behind Silent Storm, with subsequent winner Law Maker behind in seventh. The stable is in good order at present, and so a bold show is predicted. Whitbarrow is not the force of old, but looked more like his old self when second in a Wolverhampton claimer last time, while Blue Knight incurs no penalty for success in an amateur riders' event at Dunstall Park a week ago. Polar Force caught the eye in a conditions contest here recently and does not look badly treated. However, he has been done no favours by the draw, and we prefer to take a chance with Saviours Spirit.
