        Verdict

        Colouring drops back to the minimum trip for her handicap bow while Colonel Whitehead was beaten in handicaps before winning a novices’ contest at Newcastle a week ago and carries 6lb extra. BIRKENHEAD finished clear of the rest when just missing out at Wolverhampton last month and may well find the small amount of improvement needed to go one better fitted with headgear today. Champagne Supanova scored here in August but Rathagan is less exposed stepping up in distance for his handicap debut.
