In depth
Verdict
Fairnilee is selected here ahead of Bronte's Hope and Comrade Cotton. The key players: Bertie Swift, who is four pounds better off with Fairnilee for a length-and-a-quarter beating at Kempton recently; however, the winner won cosily and gets plenty of respect today; Marcus Tregoning's recent course and distance maiden winner, Bronte's Hope (although Comrade Cotton is 11 pounds better off for three and a half lengths based on that race); and solid form benchmark Cherri Fosfate. Recent Wolverhampton winner Bentley could prove best of the rest, but the vote stays with Fairnilee.
