In depth

Verdict

Lolla's Spirit is only 1lb higher than when scoring over this trip at Wolverhampton earlier this month and Michael Bell's filly has an obvious chance but she may not be as effective on this track and looks worth taking on with preference for General Flumpa over Zalkani. The last mentioned has been winning in claimers on the sand of late and does not appear to be badly treated back in a handicap today so has to be considered but he does need things to drop right for him. Treetops Hotel is better than his latest start at Ascot would suggest but he has yet to prove his effectiveness over this trip, while Missie Baileys is entitled to be thereabouts again but may, once more, have to settle for a minor role. Thebestisyettocome ran better at Warwick last time and is another to consider but a better bet looks to be General Flumpa, who has done little wrong of late and has the assistance of a decent apprentice.
