Verdict
From a shortlist of Cold Turkey, Total Turtle, Garden Society and Kinrande, we will take a chance on the last-named. A multiple winner over 12 furlongs here, Cold Turkey, who has won over two miles on Turf, holds claims at this two-mile trip today. Scarlet Mix - who'll be ridden by Timmy Murphy - was a winner over nine furlongs in France and has since won over hurdles in Britain, although he's untried at this trip on the Flat. Total Turtle has never raced here but has won at Southwell, and a fair ninth in the Cesarewitch last time brings him into things. All of Nawamees wins so far have come over jumps, while Escayola, who was just ahead of Total Turtle in the Cesarewitch, is weighted to win again based on form of last September, although he lacks all-weather form. Course and distance winner, Garden Society, is now just a pound below a winning Turf mark and should go well today, while the lightly-raced Kinrande, who has won here at 10 furlongs, is interesting stepped up to this trip today. Finally, the lightly-raced Moonshine Beach is now just a pound below a winning Turf mark but it's three years since he ran on the all-weather. Mixing it all up, we came down on the side of form.
