Verdict
This is a competitive classified stakes event in which Bella Pavlina is nominated, with Steely Dan and Moon Shot the most likely to chase the 6-year-old home. The mare from the Mark Brisbourne yard has been a model of consistency this season and although she was well beaten last time out behind Middlethorpe at Doncaster, she had previously won well at Southwell when defeating General, and with the return to the all-weather surface sure to suit she is taken to score. Steely Dan is another that has been running well of late but this gelding from the John Best yard did not conclusively convince that he stayed this trip last time at Lingfield behind Classic Role, and for that reason he is best watched on this occasion. Moon Shot has got course form and was a fair second behind Glory Quest over this trip last time. He has had his problems and is not one to place a great deal of faith in, but he could be capable of a big run. Distant Cousin is a course and distance winner who would have chances on his best form, but he was disappointing last time out, so for the winner we return to Bella Pavlina.
