      In depth

      Verdict

Solid form is thin on the ground and a market check is advised. Cape Tycoon is the obligatory selection from Ericarrow and Kijivu. The selection has finished well beaten on all starts to date, including in a moderate race at Wolverhampton last time, but his pedigree offers some hope that this longer trip may work the oracle. His dam won over this trip and he's related to a middle distance winner and he's selected on that basis. Ericarrow never featured on her debut over this trip in a Salisbury maiden but may be able to hit the target now that she's dropped in grade but she has plenty to prove. Kijivu has struggled in maidens and handicaps so far but her stable's runners in this grade always merit respect and she may be able to take closer order this evening. Hiss And Boo and Has To Be Abacus are two of the highest rated horses in the race but we'll be counting on Cape Tycoon instead.
