Verdict

QUARTZ DU RHEU had a couple of runs in France last year before joining Willie Mullins for whom he made an impressive start at Tramore, making all and coming home with his head in his chest. He's taking on much better rivals here but looks the type to go on to much better things. Turnpike Trip beat a big field on his debut at Cork before a cracking effort when runner-up in a Galway Listed race so he'll ensure the selection doesn't have things his own way. Don Patricio made amends for unseating his rider at Roscommon when making all and battling on at Sligo and is progressing nicely while Waitnsee made all for a facile victory at Ballinrobe but ran poorly here on Sunday.
