Verdict

Morgan has a double penalty by virtue of his two victories over hurdles. He was conceding Housesofparliament 13lb when beaten just over a length at Galway and, with his rider's claim taken into consideration, is 11lb better off so should have no difficulty reversing the form. However, the winner, who finished third in the St Leger on this day a year ago, will have learnt plenty from the run and scored with a bit in hand. Cinema De Quartier, who was well supported in that Galway event after scoring at Kilbeggan, made too many mistakes and will need to jump much better. MINELLA BEAU, a winner on heavy going between the flags, has won on good ground in a bumper and over hurdles but looks much more of a staying type and today's testing conditions can give him the edge.
