In depth

Verdict

A huge prize has attracted seven entries from Gordon Elliott with Jack Kennedy not surprisingly sticking with Salvador Ziggy after being on board when the unbeaten chaser gained his two latest victories very easily. A very smart hurdler, he's rated 5lb higher for his handicap debut over fences. Danny Gilligan scored a famous victory on Ash Tree Meadow in the Galway Plate with several of these behind including runner-up Authorized Art, who was beaten just over two lengths when conceding 8lb. The weights favour Willie Mullins' charge here and both hold sixth-placed Ciel De Neige, though the latter finished strongly and will appreciate the longer trip. Back in fourth that day came A WAVE OF THE SEA, who is generally thereabouts in these big handicaps. Joseph O'Brien has won the last two and his charge is taken to make it a hat-trick. Henry De Bromhead has four entries with Rachael Blackmore on board Ain't That A Shame, not beaten far in two major handicaps before scoring easily at Gowran while Stealthy Tom is among many others with chances in what should be a thrilling contest.
