In depth

Verdict

The three-year-old filly Darkest got her victory for the paddocks in a modest maiden at Limerick. She could be well treated here though she faces stronger opposition. Mean Fomhair has been in good form on testing ground and should carry her big weight with distinction while Tresorier came with a late burst to catch Beckwith Place over 6f at the Curragh though has never won over this trip. RAMIRO had shown plenty of potential for John Murphy but changed stables and gained instant reward for new connections over this trip on heavy ground at the Curragh. He's up 5lb but that was only his seventh start and there should be more to come. Dragon Of Malta, who looked to have a chance that day after scoring at Killarney, could only finish fifth and has boosted the form subsequently with a comfortable victory at Limerick.
