Verdict
OFAREL D'AIRY is given the nod in the hunters' chase, with Templer most likely to emerge as the leading danger. The selection has got some very good form to his name on soft ground and at around this trip, having won three similar contests. His problem appears to be jumping issues, and he has unseated on two of his three most recent runs. That is the dilemma for you if you are preparing to wager, as he has won on each of the last four occasions that he has completed, and we will chance him to get it right. Templer has enjoyed only one of his eight career successes when there has been a mention of soft in the ground, and he is clearly better on a sound surface. Last seen being thrashed in a handicap chase, he tries this company for the first time and will find it easier, so he is respected. Fundamentalist was a high class novice some years ago and in fact his last win was in a handicap chase from a mark of 142. He is 16lbs below that mark these days, and he has not showed any worthwhile form for quite some time, so we will oppose. Martha's Kinsman has won around here, and although he has put in some decent efforts in defeat he has not scored for three years and is another that we must take on. Von Origny has plenty to find on official figures but does at least come here in form, though preference is for Ofarel D'Airy.
