Verdict
Winsley has won round here before and can do so again at the expense of Detonateur, Give Me Love and Welsh Main. Winsley won over hurdles here in January 2004 and in December of that year, ran out of his skin to finish second to Monte Cinto in the William Hill Handicap Hurdle at odds of 100-1. There will not be any such prices available about Oliver Sherwood's seven-year-old today as he bids to get the losses back after a recent defeat when second over fences at Folestone. Already successful over the bigger obstacles the time before at Towcester, he could do with coming down the weights, but still makes appeal. Detonateur did not beat anything of note at Fontwell but will come on for the run, and Welsh Main is still handily weighted considering that he has two out of his last three outings. Give Me Love in contrast has to give weight away all round, and even this ground may not be testing enough for the French import. All in all, Winsley has more going for him than most so should prove hard to beat.
