In depth

Verdict

A wide open handicap here and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Compton Star, Smemi An Nada and Its A Classic and the tentative vote is given to Compton Star. The selection won with a little in hand last time out when beating Pilca and although having a penalty for that win he looks a progressive type and he is taken to defy the handicaper under conditions that suit. Smemi An Nada rates the main danger as he hails from a shrewd in form yard, looks handily weighted and looks sure to improve for the step up in trip so he should be watched in the market. Its A Classic is another that could go well on his latest fourth behind Secret Squirrel but he has had plenty of chances off similar marks of late without taking one and is taken on with this in mind. Broomers Hill would have a chance on his best form but consistency is not his strong point. Of the remainder Kaparolo is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is hard to win with and for the winner we return to Compton Star to small stakes.
