Sharmy can beat Spring Dawn and Wuxi Venture in this beginner's chase. Sharmy has paid his way on the flat and over hurdles, and indeed was good enough to win a decent race on the Lingfield Polytrack in February. Not seen out since finishing down the field here in April when put back over hurdles, he returned to the fray at Huntingdon less than three weeks ago, finishing third to Pirandello. He now makes his debut over fences and by all accounts has schooled well, so can make a winning start to his new career. Spring Dawn has taken time to mature and makes his comeback. Not one of the leading lights in the Henderson yard, he nevertheless will be placed to good effect once he is fit enough. Wuxi Venture has won four times on the flat and once over hurdles. He was well beaten on his return to hurdling at Carlisle and is best watched on this first try over fences. Sharmy has solid enough credentials to warrant support.
