In depth

Verdict

This looks a very competitive mares’ maiden as several should go on to better things. A mistake at the second last at Cheltenham knocked the stuffing out of Getariver but she still ran well and will know more today. Stacey Sue has won two bumpers and a point so should make a hurdler. Belatrix Lestrange also had useful bumper form, as did Felicidad, but the vote goes to French import FEUILLE DE CHENE. Second in a Grade 3 bumper in between a couple of victories last year, the JP McManus acquisition is a half-sister to five winners and from sound jumping stock.
