Verdict

This race has an open look to it and it's hard to be confident but Phil Kirby's runner PLAY THE ROCK looks of interest in this line-up. He has to prove himself over this distance but shaped with a little more promise on his return from a short break and may be able to take advantage of the handicapper's clemency with that run under his belt. Sir John represents a top yard and it would be no surprise were he to have more to offer as he takes a big step up in trip for his handicap bow. Call Me Bill may fare better with a tongue tie applied, Woodlands Gem has a tongue tie reapplied and they're considered along with Lucky Pearl and Quay Meadow.
