        Verdict

        The vote here goes to Flinders Bay but the shortlist also contained Frosty's Cousin, Lathyrus, The Baillie and The Cool Guy. Flinders Bay showed plenty of promise when fourth behind Lutea at Newbury on his debut and looks set to play a leading part today. Frosty's Cousin also showed debut promise at Chepstow and should improve for that run. The French-bred Henry Daly runner, Lathyrus, should be watched closely in the betting, while The Baillie showed promise back in March on his bumper debut and his stable has been among the winners this week. Finally, the Nigel Twiston-Davies runner, The Cool Guy, has likeable breeding and is also worthy of interest, and Everdeane is another that is worth a look in the market. Overall, though, we are happy to side with the experienced Flinders Bay.
