    Verdict

    Monsieur Gibraltar was still touch when unseating his rider at ascot having won three of his four starts between the flags this winter. But MR MERCURIAL goes particularly well around here and is a stronger stayer than his likely market rival so gets the nod. It’s hard to make a case for either Queen Olivia or Bay Sly on these terms.
