Verdict

A decent prize for the track has drawn a competitive field, where a 7lb penalty should prove inadequate where PATSY FINNEGAN is concerned and he can score from Ballinderry Park. The selection was a very comfortable scorer last time at Doncaster, having showed steady improvement for two runs prior to that. This is slightly quicker ground today, so there is a note of caution, but in the hope he handles it we will suport him for the follow-up. Ballinderry Park was a cheeky winner at Folkestone in January and is very much unexposed after just four starts over hurdles. Charlie Mann's runner also has to prove he acts on a sound surface but his chance is respected. The Randy Bishop won a novices' chase in December from today's mark of 105 and now that he has looked in the grip of the assessor over fences Tony Carroll tries his luck back over hurdles, though previous form is not so encouraging. Walamo is open to plenty of improvement and did at least make the frame last time but he is unproven on the going and you would be hard pressed to fancy him on what he has achieved. Archie Gunn is interesting from this mark and back over this trip, but for today we will give the vote to Patsy Finnegan.
