In depth

Verdict

Having a first run since November, MAGIC DANCER led until approaching the last off this mark here last week. He is very well treated nowadays and, if that run has blown away a few cobwebs, the nine-year-old could surprise likely market leaders The Bees Knees and Dobryn. Fergal O’Brien’s novice has been waiting for better ground since a profitable autumn campaign but Sam Thomas’ five-year-old improved again when second here earlier in the month and may be better handicapped. River Bray may be a few pounds too high but is back in the right grade so definitely enters calculations.
