Verdict

No British winners since 2002 but RECKLESS ABANDON could put that right today. Clive Cox' charge remained unbeaten when victorious in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot last month and though runner-up Gale Force Ten has let the form down, fourth placed Morawij has subsequently won a Listed race. Compatriot Sir Prancelot could only manage fourth in the Coventry at Ascot last time but this slightly shorter trip may suit Richard Hannon's colt while Snowday could prove best of the home challengers as he beat To My Valentine and Sage Melody in a Group 3 sprint at Chantilly recently. C&D winner Penny's Picnic has a bit more to find but it would be no surprise if Sara Lucille takes another step forward after her cosy win at Deauville.
