In depth

Verdict

HIGH NOON is a consistent performer who landed a couple of chases here last season and is now down to the sort of mark off which he should prove very competitive under suitable conditions with O'Farrell - in the plate for both of those wins - taking the ride. Fresh New Dawn is also a course winner and posted a sound effort last time when fourth at Perth. Headgear and a tongue-tie are back on and he needs to be taken seriously. Mackie Dee has gone close on two of his last three starts and will need to be considered if connections choose to come here as he is scheduled to contest a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter on Thursday.
