Verdict

An interesting bumper to round off the card and Alan Swinbank's representative Bury The Hatchet may be able to provide another winner for the yard but we cannot ignore the attentions of WITH GRACE who comes here looking for the hat-trick whilst the jockey booking for Canny Lad is of interest. The selection was an impressive winner finishing six lengths ahead of Alaska River when last seen at Southwell. She looks as though she is improving with each run and she stands a good chance of adding to her winning statistics. Tom Scudamore has a 50% record in bumpers at this course and he takes the ride on Canny Lad. The pedigree is hardly stand-out though and we will watch him on this occasion. Alan Swinbank has a 21% record in National Hunt flat races at this track over the past five seasons and there is plenty of stamina in the pedigree of his representative. Bury The Hatchet has every chance on that basis and remains in calculations. However we side with the great recent form of With Grace to land another win.
