    In depth

    Verdict

Aviator looked as though he'd relish the extra yardage when winning a novice event over 2m5f here last time as he kept finding more when challenged. Tanerko Emery is enjoying a revival of fortunes but the handicapper has taken note and Dawn Commander needs a thorough test of stamina, though did finish ahead of First Fandango at Southwell last month. Aalim continues to frustrate but Phare Isle continues in good form and should give a good account. He looks better treated than the returning Kelvingrove while Pantxoa is having a confidence-booster. TEAK won twice over hurdles last summer on similar going. Tough and versatile, he was last seen finishing third in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot and may well be a blot on the handicap on that form.
