Verdict
MCGROARTY was backed to beat the more-experienced Hestina here on his hurdling debut and first start for Richard Newland but couldn’t match the speed of his market rival. He remains a nice prospect, however, and should have few problems going one better today. Saxo Jack, who makes his debut under NH Rues, could be the one to chase him home as he’s won in Ireland and Dubai on the Flat and was third at Haydock last month. Ritasun was a close third at Fakenham in June but didn’t match that effort next time at Stratford.
