Verdict
There are plenty of runners in with chances in this competitive event and Mary Reveley's Sun King is a hopeful more than confident selection. Running through the field. Only One Matty has been raise 15lbs for an easy Musselburgh win, which seems a little harsh, so we will see how close to getting it right the handicapper is. Hopbine came back to form with a Wincanton win two runs ago. Raised five pounds for that, he will at least have a good claimer reducing the burden by three pounds. General Duroc looked more like his old self at Sandown last time and, now upped un trip, it would be no surprise to see him go well. Undeniable keeps knocking at the door but has been raised for getting beaten last time, while Ardashir hails from a stable in form and, lightly raced, has every chance of being competitive from his current mark. Teejay and Undeniable are closely weighted on their Southwell runs in December, and Canon Barney, who did quite well over hurdles in Ireland, returns to that sphere following some indifferent runs over fences. There is no doubt that Shared Account is well weighted on the best of his Irish form, while Rookery Lad could go well back at this trip from his current mark. Saxon Mill won here in 2002 and Station Island has hinted at ability in a light career to date. Sun King is another to be well weighted on the best of his form and now tries this trip for the first time. Finally, Ireland's Eye is close to a mark from which he has won if you factor in his rider's claim. It's a nightmare of a puzzle to solve really, but you have to nail your colours somewhere, and we'll take a chance with Sun King.
