Verdict
In this mares' event, Jontys'lass gets the vote ahead of I Got Rhythm and Alderbrook Girl. Jontys'lass ran well at Newcastle last time despite falling at the last, admittedly when held but in arguably a better contest. She is respected on the back of that effort and is taken to score. I Got Rhythm is arguably better on quicker going but would hold claims following her second to Silver Seeker last time, although the form was let down a little on Thursday. Miss Holly was beaten on her handicap bow last time and also has not raced on going this soft since her racecourse debut, so it's hard to fully assess her claims. Gaelic Roulette also has it to prove in handicaps, while Princesse Grec would hold claims based on her chasing form of 2004, but her recent efforts leave a bit to be desired. Alderbrook Girl appeared to show some improvement last time and the drop in trip today could be interesting, while Rude Health also put in a career-best effort last time and, over a slightly shorter trip today cannot be ruled out, although she has been absent since November. Overall, then, in a race where the betting market might provide some clues, the selection is Jontys'Lass.
