Verdict
Mighty Fine gets a narrow verdict over Wuxi Venture, Cool Monty and Which Half in the final race on the card. Mighty Fine has been playing catch-up ever since suffering an injury behind Skippers Cleuch four years ago. Amazingly, Edna Slack's charge, now a 10-year-old, has only ever visited Market Rasen once before, when seventh over hurdles two years ago, since when he has been campaigned mostly at his beloved Sedgefield, scene of all of his five career wins to date. However, this is not a strong contest, and he does line up in form, so catches the eye. Wuxi Venture's last win came on fast ground at Kelso in May, since when he has been in action both on the Flat and over hurdles. He is not in the best of form at present, while Cool Monty has topweight to overcome. Both his victories over fences have been here though, so he may go well. Which Half has yet to jump a fence in public and his stable has yet to hit top form, so for the winner we return to Mighty Fine.
