Charles St, a consistent performer on the Flat, overcame some indifferent early jumping to be beaten only half-a-length by the more-experienced Artistic Choice at Huntingdon. He's certain to get competitive but ACTIVE DUTY followed a fair debut at Ludlow with a fine run in a Cheltenham Grade 2 where he was there with a chance at the last. Chaos Control, three-times an all-weather winner, followed a narrow defeat on his hurdling bow at Kempton with a moderate run at Huntingdon though that was a better race than this. Benjamin Bear will have come on for his run at Sandown in December and his stable also run Polytrack winner Open Champion but four-times Flat winner Sanitiser needs to improve on what he's shown so far over timber.
