Verdict
Several of these have chances in a competitive handicap chase and what can only be a tentative vote goes the way of the James Evans-trained PROPHETE DE GUYE, who has been a good winner of similar races at Uttoxeter and Worcester of late and he can resume winning ways racing off just a 5lb higher mark than on the latter occasion. Martin Todhunter's Western Gale disappointed at Cartmel last time and now looks best watched but he but may do better on the faster surface here. Neil King's Pairc Na Gcapall has been running consistently well but is likely to again find at least one too good, while Micky Hammond's Chernik looked unlucky when unseating three out at Hexham last time but is probably a shade high in the weights. Finzi Contini has to be considered with Tim Vaughan's string in good heart but preference is for Prophete de Guye.
