In depth

Verdict

Viscount Rossini has won twice from four starts on this track and his success over Hippodrome here in November could be given a boost by the runner-up earlier in the day. Zarinski looked a decent prospect in novice company just over a year ago and made a promising return after a very long break at Newbury last month. With that under his belt he's on the short-list as is Quite The Man, another to run well last time after an absence. Aviador hasn't quite progressed and was beaten a long way when runner-up at Fakenham but Anabel King has done a fine job with Dormouse, a winner over the C&D in September and successful at Leicester recently. FLINTY BAY has to concede weight all round but still looks very well treated on his handicap debut. Beaten just over three lengths by Backspin at Bangor last month, the winner went on to land the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle at Newbury and is now on a mark of 146. Nicky Richards' charge therefore looks thrown in here off 115 and is the selection.
