Snookered was never really travelling at Cartmel last month after an earlier win there in a race for lady riders. CASTEL GANDOLFO hasn’t won since June last year but was second to Pisgah Pike in a valuable handicap here in July and has had a run on the Flat since. Jack Hogan’s claim is a plus and the yard sent out last year’s winner. Fergal O’Brien also runs Eagle's Realm, who beat subsequent winner Appreciate at Stratford in July and followed up off a 5lb higher mark at the same course last month. Front-runner Inca Prince has only won at Musselburgh so far but there are possibilities about the returning Judicial Law, a winner at Exeter and Ludlow last season.
