In depth

Verdict

The best race of the season so far. GRONKOWSKI completed an all-weather hat-trick for Jeremy Noseda in the spring of last year then went to the USA, finishing runner-up in the Belmont Stakes. His form petered out but he was back on-song here in March, ending with a brilliant effort when beaten a nose by Thunder Snow in the Dubai World Cup with New Trails a long way behind. The latter is much better than that while Manguzi also produced a first-class effort on World Cup Night, beaten just a length in the Group 2 UAE Derby. None of the trio are likely to be fully wound-up here but the former's class should see him home. Mystique Moon arrives in good spirits having scored over 7f at Jebel Ali though he was beaten eight lengths behind Saltarin Dubai when receiving 8lb in a handicap in January so the latter should have his measure. Talento Puma won his last two in Argentina at this time a year ago but faces a stiff task on his track debut.
