          Verdict

          Maltese Cat showed major improvement to beat today's rival Line Of Sight in a maiden here a fortnight ago but, though likely to take care of the runner-up again, this is a much tougher contest. Stalking Shadow has been badly out of form but has dropped to a lowly mark as a consequence though a high draw may be against him this time. Count Paris can usually be relied on to do his best at this level and was staying on strongly over 7f behind Dan Chillingworth here last month. He found 6f too short last time but still ran really well and will be difficult to keep out of a place. Kieren Fallon has picked up a nice ride on MARK TO MARKET, who deserves a change of fortune. He will have found 1m3f too far last time but had been staying on strongly over this trip in his earlier starts and has the right man on board to galvanize him home here.
