In depth

Verdict

Six of the nine entries for this Group 2 are owned by Godolphin. DREAM CASTLE won the Group 3 Singspiel three weeks ago in the smoothest possible fashion. Brought wide off a slow early pace, he made up so much ground in the straight that the result was never in doubt and he should follow up. Racing History went on 2f out but had no answer when the winner quickened while Bay Of Poets was always there but stayed on at one pace and Deauville weakened quickly at the 2f pole after setting the pace. Blair House, another of the Godolphin contingent, is undoubtedly the best horse in the field but lacks a recent run. He surprisingly beat stable companion Benbati in the Group 1 Jebel Hatta in March and was only a short-head behind him in a Group 1 at Caulfield in October before a very reasonable run in the Mackinnon at Flemington. He'll have the Jebel Hatta as his aim again and could just be short of peak fitness.
