        Verdict

        Newmarket and Goodwood winner Mountain Hunter was expected to do better here last week but didn't take to the Dirt surface. Godolphin also run Banksea, three times a winner for Luca Cumani including in the Spring Cup on his reappearance at Newbury last April so the lack of a recent run shouldn't pose a problem. Majeed is 5-10 on the all-weather though has won just once in 18 starts on Turf but Mailshot arrives in winning form having landed a minor handicap here on Saturday and his yard continue in excellent form. In The Lope is a consistent performer in France who had no luck in the Churchill Stakes at Lingfield in November. He's on a nice mark and is one to note but a chance is taken with BOLD REX. He was running at the top level in South Africa at this time a year ago and, like most of his stable's runners, will have come on nicely for last week's run.
