In depth
Verdict
Fanaar, a Listed winner for William Haggas, made an eye-catching debut here last week and is greatly respected though if ON THE WARPATH is ready after a long break he should be good enough. Last year's winner of this, Charlie Appleby's charge beat the reapposing Summerghand 3 lengths at Newmarket in May and can cement his place in the Carnival's top events next month. Taamol has been in top form at Abu Dhabi but hasn't done as well here but the selection's stable companion Velorum is interesting having completed a double last spring before well beaten in the Britannia at Royal Ascot. Chiefofchiefs was staying on strongly on his first ever start over this trip three weeks ago and another furlong wouldn't go amiss.
