In depth

Verdict

Charlie Appleby holds the key to this with Fly At Dawn and VAN DER DECKEN. The former won three of his five starts including a couple of nurseries but failed in a Listed race at Newmarket in October so it's his stable companion who looks the one to be on. He started off in Ireland where he won a Curragh maiden and though not successful later he raced in strong company and should just about have the edge. Call To War gained a comfortable victory at Gulfstream in June and could be anything while Mufeed made all and stayed on strongly to land a course and distance maiden last month though faces stiffer opposition.
