      Verdict

      LITTLE ELI may have only finished fourth at Haydock a fortnight ago but was beaten less than a length in a blanket finish. Dropping down a couple of grades for this, Eric Alston's charge gets the nod. Mandy Layla took advantage of a slide down the weights to end a long losing run at Hamilton last time. She's upped 3lb but remains on a decent mark compared to her best form. Tadalavil failed to cope with a 3lb rise at Newcastle last week for an earlier win at Ayr but Pavers Star went close in similar company over track and trip last time and can figure.
