In depth
Verdict
Oriental Scot pops up when he feels like it and he clearly did at Haydock last time when he had the re-opposing Desert Romance back in third. The latter is weighted to reverse running today, however, while Staff Sergeant was winning for the first time in over two years when scoring over C&D last month and has been upped 6lb as a consequence. CHARPOY won his maiden over a mile at Killarney in August and was placed over 1m4f at Dundalk in April. Dropping back in trip on his first start for the in-form Ian Semple, he might be up to landing this. European Dream is rare winner nowadays and would prefer some cut in the ground anyway.
