Verdict
Hohlethelonely seemed to handle the cut in the ground well enough first time out at Hamilton but it is hard to gauge the merits of that form in what was a five runner contest and a better bet may be Salaasa, who gets the vote ahead of Hurricane Thomas. The selection made his debut in the Newmarket maiden won by Asperity in September and, with improvement to come from teh run and for racing on a softer surface today, Mark Johnston's colt looks the one they all have to beat. Musical Land ran better here last time but is becoming expensive to follow and may be best watched today, while Brian Smart's Dark Energy make sonly limited appeal on pedigree on his debut. Hurricane Thomas has shown improved form with each start and Mark Johnson's colt has to be respected but marginal preference is for stablemate Salaasa, who is taken to benefit from a quiet introduction at Newmarket and improve sufficiently on that effort today.
