          Verdict

          A typically open Showcase event but Heir To Be remains unexposed and is the TEAMtalk pick to defy a 6lb penalty and follow up his Nottingham victory last week. John Dunlop's late maturing three-year-old showed his appreciation for testing conditions and a step up to this trip when making all and pulling six lengths clear for a most decisive success. This represents a step up in class but the son of Elmaamul is capable of further progress and can take advantage of his low weight. Clarinch Claymore is on to the hat-trick after convincing wins at Beverley and Ayr but has paid the price and is now 10lb higher so faces no easy task. Ocean Tide showed a willing attitude when all out to score over course and distance last time and, along with recent Newmarket winner Timing, has place claims. Solomon's Mine is a consistent sort at this level and is another for the short list after gaining an overdue success on the all-weather at Southwell last month. The booking of Kieren Fallon for the Tandava, who steps up to this trip for the first time, could prove significant but in-form Best Port needs a fast surface to show his best and could struggle in the conditions.
